The craft…
To create an immersive world focusing on the empowerment & a celebration of the LGBTQIA+ community in an immersive 360 sonic-booming stage setting.
The brief
We were asked to design, fabricate and install a new stage for Boomtown Festival, 30 metres in circumference.
The concept
An immersive world with 4m high stage walls around the outside with the stage in the middle, the focus here was empowerment of the LGBTQIA+ community. Graffiti all over the walls in many different styles and layers with sayings and words from the community mixed with design features giving the walls more depth.
The Creation
We led a highly skilled team of 30 to create the area. We started off by fabricating and decorating all the stage flats.
We then installed a scaffold frame running the circumference of the area which enabled us to attached our flats and create our stage perimeter. We continued building the layers with our graffiti artist, adding words, sayings and other design elements to give the stage more depth. We finished off by adding led screens around the stage, lighting around the perimeter of the arena, up the trusting of the stage and the final piece, a 4-point void soundsystem.
the experience…
We created an immersive 360 experience for the customers where they were all dancing around the stage in the middle from all sides.
